Marriage License Information
To apply for a marriage license, please fill out the Marriage License Worksheet and bring this with you to the Town Clerk's Office.
We need to see a driver’s license, or some form of photo identification, when you apply for a marriage license. The cost of a marriage license is $50.00. If you would like us to send you certified copies once your marriage license is filed with us, it will cost $20.00 for each certified copy. Please pay with either cash or check made payable to the Town of Chester.
You must apply for your marriage license in the town you are physically getting married in. You cannot apply more than 65 days before your wedding date because a marriage license expires after 65 days.
If you need the name of a Justice of the Peace, we do have a list available upon request.
If you need a certified copy of your marriage license, please fill out the request form and mail to us along with a check for $20 made out to the Town of Chester.
