Economic Development Commission

Downtown Chester

Welcome from the Chester Economic Development Commission!

Chester First Fridays, Sunday Farmers’ Markets, Sunday night summer concerts in Pelletier Park at Cedar Lake, Starry Night, The Wish Booth and more… So many stories expressed by visitors and residents bring to light the magic of Chester. Many who visit our town are impressed by our friendliness and a feeling of being welcomed, its natural beauty, our thriving arts and cultural scene, award-winning restaurants and brewery, activities and events, and rich New England history. We are surrounded by the Connecticut River, forests, lakes, and local and state parks. All of our features entice many to become residents or establish a business here. Chester’s Economic Development Committee (EDC) is at the ready to welcome you with information and resources.

The EDC serves as an advisory board to the Board of Selectmen by promoting and developing the economic resources of the Town consistent with our unique character, quality of life, natural and historical resources, and natural environment. By supporting existing businesses and exploring opportunities for business growth the EDC works to support Chester’s economic stability. Check out the visitor friendly initiatives we’ve been working on here.
