Timeline
- April 12, 2023: The resolution to adopt a Charter Commission was unanimously approved by the Board of Selectmen. The Board of Selectmen has 30 days to form the Commission per State Statutes.
- April 14 - April 26, 2023: Applications to serve on the Charter Commission will be accepted.
- May 10, 2023: The Board of Selectmen appoints the members of the Charter Commission at its regular board meeting.
- May 11, 2023: Connecticut deadline to appoint Charter Commission.
- May 1, 2024: Expected date that the Charter Commission issues their report and the draft Charter to the Board of Selectmen
- November 5, 2024: If approved by the Board of Selectmen, the proposed Charter is on the ballot for approval or rejection by the public
