Chester Land Trust

HELP YOUR TOWN: JOIN THE LANDTRUST
John Bellows, President

Preserving our town's natural resources is the purpose of the Chester Land Trust. We are a non profit organization which exists to conserve and preserve our town's fragile and unique environment. We are steward's of eleven Chester properties including the creation of the Scudder and Carini Preserves. As well as managing various tracts of undeveloped land in town, the Land Trust promotes and sponsor's educational programs and other activities and publishes a semi-annual newsletter, among other achievements. The Trust also works to protect the Connecticut River to ensure that the aesthetics of the river are preserved.
There is much work that needs to be done to make sure this town keeps its special qualities that make us want to live here. The Land Trust is doing some of that work but needs member support to be strong. We presently have about two hundred individuals and families as members.
Please consider joining the Trust this year. An annual Individual membership is $20; Family, $25; Friend, $40; Sustaining, $100; Steward $500 and Life, $1000. You may send your check, made out to the Chester Land Trust Inc., to P.O. Box 82, Chester, CT. 06412.
If you are also interested in becoming actively involved with the Trust, please contact us or include a note with your membership dues.
