Building Department

The Building Department is charged to enforce Connecticut Building Codes on all new construction in town. This includes safety regulations for construction workers.

Duties include:

* Reviewing plans for construction

* Issuing permits

* Conducting worksite and property inspections

* Upholding compliance with State Building Codes

Building Official

When conflicts or problems arise, the Building Official will try to help you find solutions. Safety is always the main concern.

Access to building records and files is offered Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Please see Sharon in the Finance Department.

For your convenience, record requests may be called in to 860-526-0013, ext. 216 or emailed to the Building Official. Records or copies will be available for review any time after 9:00 a.m. the next business day.
