Linda
Fox, Library Director

Linda came to Chester Library in 2002 and to her fall the pleasures of selecting books, movies and music, working with the Library Board of Directors in planning for the library’s future and acting as liaison to the Friends of Chester Library. She also enjoys a little gardening, a little family history research and some not very skillful kayaking. What about reading? Well, that’s part of the job. Gotta love it!...

Leigh
Basilone, Circulation Assistant

Leigh Basilone joined your library staff in July 2007, bringing to Chester Library an enthusiasm for books, for reading and for life. Leigh is an avid scrapbooker, cyclist and homeschooling mother. She will be at the circulation desk on Thursday and Friday afternoons, as well as on Saturdays and it’s she who will gently remind you of any library materials you may have overdue.

Pam
Larson, Assistant Librarian

Pam Larson, a film buff and a wonderful resource when you are looking for a good movie, joined your library staff in 1997. You’ll find Pam at the Library all day Monday and Friday when she is busy tracking down items patrons want but Chester Library doesn’t own.

Patty
Petrus, Assistant Librarian
|
|
Patty Petrus has been part of Chester Library since 1984, and a whole generation of Chester children has been introduced to the library through her creative Monday morning story times and Summer reading programs. Patty is at the library Mondays until 2PM and all day Wednesday.

Terry Schreiber, Chairman
|
|
Terry has been on the Library Board of
Directors for many years and now serves as Chairperson. She and her husband have lived in Chester since 1972 and
Terry has taught horseback riding for over 40 years. Terry is also on the Board of Directors
of Camp Hazen. She enjoys kayaking,
gardening, reading, hiking and spending time with her family.

Molly Waite Lund, Secretary
Molly joined the Library Board of
Directors in May 2006. She is
employed by Yale-New Haven Hospital
as a Senior Medical Dosimetrist in the Department of Radiation Therapy at William H.
Backus Hospital
in Norwich. Previously, Molly worked for ten years as
a high school science teacher in the public school system. She routinely volunteers with Valley Regional High School
parent organizations in the athletic and music programs. An avid amateur photographer, Molly
enjoys her hobby while boating on Long Island Sound or vacationing in Maine.

Deedee Prisloe, Treasurer
|
|
Deedee served on the Library Board
of Directors for the first time in the 1980's and held the positions
of secretary and chair during that time. She returned to the
Board in 2003. Married with one daughter, Deedee enjoys traveling,
hiking, kayaking, reading, cooking and time with family and friends.
She is a clinical social worker with a private psychotherapy practice in New London.

Peggy Carter-Ward
|
|
Peggy has been on the Library Board of
Directors since 2002. She works at Business and Legal Reports, a business
to business publisher of HR, safety and environmental compliance products.
Peggy enjoys reading, baking, gardening, and her family. Peggy also
produces the Chester
Elementary School’s
PTO newsletter.

Sandy Senior-Dauer
Sandy has
been on the Library Board of Directors since 2000, and secretary since
200l. She has just begun to enjoy the pleasures of retirement after
33 years of teaching history at the high school and university
levels. She is Vice President of the Chester Historical Society, serves
on the Chester Land Trust Board, is past president of the New England
History Teachers Association and Connecticut Council for the Social
Studies, and continues to serve on many National Social Studies
committees. She is presently teaching Social Studies Methods at
Southern Connecticut State University and enjoys domestic and
foreign travel with her husband, Keith, cooking, tennis, reading,
volunteer work, politics and gardening.

Barbara Stanke
Sandy
Barbara joined the Library Board in March 2008. Previously, she was in corporate communications for 20 years, working initially out of Los Angeles and later New York City. Currently she takes on freelance writing projects when they come along and keeps busy writing legacies for Middlesex Hospice, working at the Soup Kitchen Garden in Old Saybrook and mentoring high school students at Haddam-Killingworth High School. She and her husband Van have four grown daughters and have lived in Chester for five years. While Van is on the golf course, Barbara is an active gardener, kayaker, hiker, cook, reader, animal lover and political junkie.. |
